Sr. Sourcing & Procurement Consultant in the Financial Services category completes projects related to: Money movement - payment processing, payment methods (card, digital, wallet), payment devices, payment gateways, IVR remittances, ACH and EFT remittances Account Linked Card related services - healthcare card production, fulfillment, manufacturing (HSA, FSA,HRA) Other cards - credit line cards, gift cards, prepaid cards, OTC card, Solutran cards, Commuter cards, travel cards, employee purchase cards (P Cards), fuel cards Banking services including loan origination and management systems, loan servicing, credit bureaus, credit underwriting, credit prescreen, collections of patient loan debt Fraud prevention, identity verification, account verification for financial accounts Subscriptions Platforms related to financial services processing and loans The Sr. Sourcing Procurement Consultant will deliver value to customers; communicate effectively; drive sound, disciplined decisions, and drive high-quality execution. We are looking for a proven professional who is a self-starter with contracting experience to successfully deliver on initiatives that will often have broad and meaningful impact on the business. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • 3+ years contract drafting and negotiation experience
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in executing market-leading sourcing strategies, leading sourcing projects and /or working in cross-functional procurement team
  • Solid proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Copilot
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high demand multi-tasking environment
  • Proven capability in navigating complex challenges using data-driven analysis, thoughtful alternatives, open-minded evaluation, and well-reasoned strategic planning
  • Proven solid organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proven ability to concisely articulate positions and persuade leaders from various levels of business and procurement leadership
  • Proven solid analytical skills (effectively support decisions on factual data and analysis) and problem-solving skills
  • If located near Eden Prairie, MN, you will be asked to perform this role in an office setting on average of 4 days per week
  • Unless an approved UHG telecommuter, if located near Eden Prairie, MN, you will be asked to perform this role in an office setting on average of 4 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support strategies for multiple services; manage supplier performance management programs; and execute sourcing and contracting processes.
  • Work with business teams to understand and provide support to a rapidly changing financial technology organization, execute negotiation strategies for contracting and requests for information; benchmark rates, negotiate and execute contract terms and conditions (leveraging UnitedHealth Group’s contract terms and internal subject matter experts, with an accountability to terms, risk mitigation/compliance and internal protocols), and overall pricing strategy; and ensure supplier compliance with contract terms and conditions and pricing
  • Execute strategic sourcing initiatives across one or more business segments, including, but not limited to, implementing change management strategies to support current supply chain, overall procurement programs and overall sourcing and contracting strategy; and drive strategic sourcing efficiency through implementation of best practices
  • Understand and analyze commodities and global sourcing and contracting strategies; and ensure alignment of enterprise sourcing and contracting efforts, enterprise supply chain strategies with major technology vendors, and applicable business owner/commodity area strategies in accordance with overall business and financial goals
  • Develop relationships with applicable stakeholders and suppliers, including executive level individuals, across the enterprise to drive support of the sourcing and procurement value proposition, consistent, high-quality delivery of procurement programs, and sourcing and contracting initiatives
  • Evaluate supplier consolidation strategies, opportunities to leverage supplier spend (including, but not limited to, re-sourcing and re-negotiation of on-going supplier relationships), and cost savings opportunities; participate in vendor selection and competitive bidding strategy (e.g., RFPs, renegotiations, eSourcing) and leverage Ariba platform (Procure-to-Pay, Sourcing and Contracting) to drive process efficiencies and reduce costs; make appropriate recommendations; and execute and maintain the same
