About The Position

The Senior Sourcing Analyst - Indirect will work on initiatives across a wide range of Dover’s operating companies, as well as Dover Corporate business needs. The person hired in this role will support Dover’s Supply Chain and Sourcing Organizations by providing analytical expertise, support project management activity, and manage select supplier relationships. As the candidate grows in knowledge and experience, they will be asked to assume greater levels of responsibility for leading strategic sourcing and other supply chain/operations improvement projects and will be considered for other opportunities within Dover Corporation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Graduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Science, or Engineering.
  • Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in at least one (and ideally more) of the following areas: Procurement, supply chain, engineering / technical, manufacturing operations, management consulting, logistics, project management.
  • Recent graduates with strong manufacturing supply chain internship experience will also be considered.
  • Experience, training or education in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, data analysis, project management, and/or procurement processes.
  • Work experience in a manufacturing company a plus
  • Strong proficiency in all MS Office applications; advanced word processing and database skills a plus
  • Professional Procurement, Supply Chain and Project Management certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP, etc.) a plus
  • Extensive MS Office Knowledge – ability to create and manipulate datasets.
  • Recognizes internal stakeholders as customers – has demonstrated ability to influence internal stakeholders in formal and informal settings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all team members, stakeholders, management, and suppliers.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload and control detailed complexities across multiple projects.
  • Ability to develop and grow relationships with stakeholders and leadership promoting and expanding the sourcing process within assigned projects.
  • Ability to comprehend procurement and supply chain processes as well as basic knowledge in a vast array of direct and indirect commodities.
  • Able to gather quantitative and qualitative information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
  • Problem solving and systemic thinking skills: critical analytics/diagnosis/prioritization skills; anticipating customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive Indirect Strategic Sourcing initiatives across Digital/Technology and CAPEX categories.
  • Execute capital equipment, machine tool, and industrial automation sourcing strategies, including contract negotiation.
  • Execute enterprise software platforms, cloud migration, and system integrator partner strategies and business cases.
  • Execute the strategic sourcing lifecycle to scope, select, and negotiate in these spaces.
  • Serve as a Sr Analyst on complex projects, communicating with sponsors directly with limited oversight, and developing engagement management, stakeholder relationship management, risk management, and delivery management skills.
  • Create financial models, define data requirements, identify assumptions, model cost-benefit analysis, and structure storyboards to communicate insights and results of analysis.
  • Support documenting methodologies, project assets, and tools.
  • Obtain and analyze market intelligence such as supplier, customer, and competitor data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Quantitative profile development, data analysis, and business case development for strategic sourcing projects (supplier research, master data, market basket analysis, pricing analysis, etc.).
  • Execute sourcing initiatives from initial opportunity assessment through supplier engagement and implementation.
  • Develop skills to create category strategies and communicate direction different levels of the organization including Corporate and Dover Operating Companies (OpCos).
  • Vendor management of specific supplier relationships.
  • Develop rapport and confidence of our internal stakeholders and our suppliers to enhance collaboration and improve project adoption.
  • Duties as part of cross-functional, cross-segment/divisional, and/or cross-geographical teams made up of the following people: Sourcing and Supply Chain Project Leaders Commodity Managers Sourcing Analysts Segment/Divisional Procurement, Quality, Technical, and Management personnel. Suppliers Selected, specialized individuals key to the projects.
