About The Position

At NVIDIA, we believe that accelerated computing is the key to solving the world’s most significant scientific challenges. We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our Higher Education and Research Team, where you will serve as a technical partner to the visionaries shaping the future of discovery! In this role, you will be an integral part of a team not only supporting higher education universities, but also be one of the experts concentrating support for research institutes across the nation. You will help with technical aspects around foundational model training, while also helping developers harness AI and high-performance computing to achieve breakthroughs in flagship areas such as accelerating fusion energy or real time observation of molecular dynamics to speed up medicine and material design. Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Physics, Computational Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in accelerated computing and knowledge of parallel computing with GPUs
• A passion for solving the toughest scientific challenges.
• Experience porting and/or optimizing scientific applications targeting GPUs
• Strong fundamentals in programming and software design, especially in Python and C++
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent knowledge of theory and practice of AI at scale
• A dedication to clear and inclusive communication with a deep desire to partner with the academic community to help others succeed in their research goals.

Nice To Haves

• Excellent C/C++ programming skills, including debugging, profiling, code optimization, performance analysis, and test design
• Experience working with academic research community supporting HPC or AI
• Familiarity with distributed computing platforms, containers and scheduling tools
• Experience with NVIDIA GPUs and parallel programming libraries, such as CUDA, OpenMP, OpenACC, communication libraries and runtime (MPI, NCCL, UCX, NVSHMEM)
• A genuine curiosity about distributed computing, containers, and orchestration to help researchers manage the complex infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Partner with research universities to co-create innovative solutions with NVIDIA’s platform and breakthrough discoveries across academia, industry and government
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to align NVIDIA’s technical roadmap with the evolving strategies and complex workflows of the scientific community
• Engage with developers and researchers to architect ground-breaking solutions in complex domains like computational physics, quantum computing, or molecular science, pioneering the next generation of Scientific Foundation Models!
• Profile and optimize the performance of training/inferencing large-scale AI models to ensure that sophisticated applications reach full potential on accelerated systems
• Travel requirement up to 20%.

• Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
• The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD.
• You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
