The Senior Software QA Engineer for System Testing (SD-WAN) at Cisco Meraki is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the SD-WAN product offerings. This role involves designing and implementing test strategies, developing testbeds, and executing tests that reflect customer use cases. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance testing methodologies and provide technical leadership within the QA team.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the use cases/workflows of the MX and vMX solutions deployed in customer environments.
  • Participate in requirements/design discussions with Product managers and the development team, representing the QA team.
  • Craft test strategy documents for the Meraki MX and vMX features and collaborate with other QA and development teams.
  • Execute tests and report test results and metrics.
  • Develop automation scripts in parallel with feature testing to enable CI/CD.
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose new test tools and methodologies for improving system-level product testing.
  • Take ownership from feature system testing to production deployment, including monitoring and alerting.
  • Provide mentorship to the MX System Test team and guide junior engineers.
  • 7 years of Software Quality Assurance experience, including 3+ years in system and integration testing within large-scale routing, switching, and wireless domains.
  • Expertise in SDWAN, Security, Layer-2 (VLAN/802.1Q), IPv6, Layer-3 (BGP/IP/OSPF/VPN/IPSec/NAT).
  • Proficient in writing quality code using Ruby or Python, with experience in building and maintaining automation in CI/CD environments.
  • Experience with cloud or containerized platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management.
  • Strong communication skills with a track record of effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Research of applications and Framework experience, including acquired patents or published papers on embedded solutions.
  • Experience with Automation framework and/or CI pipeline development.
