The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Product Owner to support our FishTools team located in Aurora, CO or Chantilly, VA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization. We’re seeking a highly talented, motivated, and creative software product owner to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of an agile software program for the national intelligence community.

  • Analyzing high level customer requirements and deriving lower-level functional requirements.
  • Leading and directing the activities and resources of assigned projects and supporting management and engineering in large scale and complex projects.
  • Leading/planning software development tasks including detailed software design, coding, and unit/integration/functional/system testing of customer desired features/user stories, ensuring successful achievement of acceptance criteria.
  • Customer/stakeholder presentation and reporting skills.
  • Briefing software designs and demonstrating software release functionality to customer/stakeholders/end users.
  • Developing and sustaining new and existing applications; as well as troubleshooting and resolving various software issues.
  • Contributing to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture.
  • Knowledge of project planning processes and tools to define, design, and plan projects, achieve project deliverables, optimize the contributions of internal and external resources, and accomplish desired business results.
  • Effective use of Atlassian Products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Crucible, etc.)
  • Occasional business travel and after-hours support may be required.
  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Leadership, Product Operations, Product Management or Agile Project Management role.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Solid background in Java and foundational knowledge of object-oriented design and software patterns (5+ years of experience).
  • Experience using dependency management (Ivy, Maven, Gradle).
  • Experience developing and maintaining SOAP, RMI, REST APIs and interfaces.
  • Experience using cloud-based infrastructure (AWS).
  • Knowledge of Git or other DVCS; experience using automation server (Jenkins).
  • Experience/knowledge of the GEOINT domain.
  • Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management.
