The Role We’re looking for a Sr. Workday HRIS Manager to lead the strategy, optimization, and governance of our Workday HCM & PATTs platform. In this role, you’ll serve as the functional owner of Workday, partnering closely with HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors to ensure our platform is stable, scalable, compliant, and continuously improving. Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of HRIS experience with strong, hands‑on Workday expertise
  • 3+ years leading Workday configuration and production support.
  • Deep knowledge of Workday HCM & PATTs business processes, security framework, domains, calculated fields, and reporting
  • Experience supporting medium‑enterprise organizations (3,000+ employees preferred)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills

Nice To Haves

  • Workday certifications (HCM, PATTs, Security, Reporting, Recruiting, etc.)
  • Experience leading Workday implementations or major module rollouts
  • Exposure to Payroll, Benefits, or Finance integrations

Responsibilities

  • Workday Platform Ownership
  • Own Workday HCM and related modules including Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Compensation, Absence, Benefits, and PATTs (US Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking & Scheduling)
  • Maintain system health, data integrity, audit readiness, and manage twice‑yearly Workday releases
  • Partner with HR leadership to translate business needs into scalable, future‑proof Workday solutions
  • Configuration & Business Process Design
  • Design, configure, test, and deploy Workday business processes, eligibility and condition rules, validations, notifications, and calculated fields
  • Lead configuration for key lifecycle events (hire, job change, termination, compensation actions)
  • Ensure system configuration aligns with security, compliance, and internal controls
  • Security & Data Governance
  • Manage Workday security roles, domains, and business process security
  • Conduct regular audits and access reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, data privacy, and security requirements
  • Reporting & Analytics
  • Oversee development of standard, advanced, and matrix reports.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to define KPIs and dashboard requirements
  • Support data extracts, EIBs, and downstream integrations
  • Release & Change Management
  • Lead impact assessments, testing, and deployment of Workday’s semi‑annual releases
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams on regression testing cycles
  • Own communication, documentation, and training for new functionality
  • Integrations & Vendor Management
  • Support and troubleshoot inbound/outbound integrations (benefits, payroll, background checks, LMS, etc.)
  • Collaborate with IT on integration monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Manage AMS partners, Workday support tickets, and vendor relationships
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor HRIS analysts/administrators
  • Set team priorities, performance goals, and development plans
  • Establish HRIS operating models and intake/triage processes
