Senior Software Engineering Manager, Enterprise Systems
About The Position
Verily's core strategy is to advance precision health by bridging the gap between research and care. To achieve this, we require a robust content serving platform that enables seamless configuration of clinical data, protocols, schedules, and plan definitions for both clinical studies and care programs. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in building the systems that support content management and localization as used by users in our Enterprise suite of applications. Your work will directly impact the experience of patients and participants enrolled in our programs, ensuring they engage with clear, actionable and timely information in their preferred languages.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience of a team of at least 15 software engineers.
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong expertise in software development methodologies and best practices.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and expand a team of 8-10 software engineers across multiple systems.
- Drive project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute on the team's strategic goals.
- Provide technical guidance and make critical decisions to meet project milestones.
