Senior Software Engineering Manager – Cryptographic products

About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead a dynamic team focused on developing cutting-edge products for securing data at rest using advanced cryptographic techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cryptography, data security, and product development, combined with proven leadership skills. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and secure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage product development activities
• Work with product management, design, support and other dev teams to create high-quality solutions
• Manage daily activities of the development team
• Solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous problems
• Manage departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team

Requirements

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
• 10+ years of experience with encryption/decryption workflows, key rotation policies, secure storage mechanisms and advanced coding skills with high-quality results
• Experience with Key Management Systems and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
• Stay updated on emerging threats and advancements in cryptography to incorporate state-of-the-art practices
• Experience managing employees who require little oversight in completing assigned work
• Experience providing direction, delegate assignments, and support to accomplish tasks with their team
• Experience with agile development environments
• Fluency in one or more relevant programming language (Java, C++, Python, JavaScript)
• Experience completing projects based on company priorities, context, risks and desired outcomes
• Familiarity with compliance standards like FIPS 140-2/3, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR
