As a Senior Software Engineer at McKinsey and Company, you will be an integral part of the Technology and Development (TandD) team, collaborating closely with product managers, developers, architects, and various platform teams to design and develop innovative software solutions. Your role will involve working with multiple TandD product teams, utilizing a diverse range of technologies to ensure that applications are reliable, scalable, and available. You will play a key role in helping teams deliver breakthrough digital products and services while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement. You will be responsible for the complete technical architecture of the product, overseeing its journey from inception through product release and into maintenance. This includes providing thought partnership to senior leaders regarding the overall direction of the product portfolio and strategies for managing and evolving architectural capabilities. You will collaborate with the Architecture Center of Excellence to create reusable solutions and develop new open-source libraries, leveraging emerging technologies to guide the development and strategic direction of new products and processes. In this position, you will implement secure coding practices and uphold high standards of code quality and engineering practices, including test-driven development, simple code, automated testing, and continuous integration and deployment. Additionally, you will provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to architects and technical leads, enhancing the overall capability of the organization.
