The Azure Core Storage team is responsible for delivering the storage virtualization platform for Azure Virtual Machines (VMs). This platform processes trillions of input/output operations daily across hundreds of datacenters and thousands of clusters. We manage the entire software stack on Azure hosts, including handling VM input/output operations, implementing caching, throttling, and Quality of Service (QoS), managing transport layers, and ensuring encryption of data in transit and at rest. As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will design and implement software solutions that optimize storage for the Azure fleet. Your work will include developing device drivers, system software, installation and diagnostic tools, libraries, telemetry services, and comprehensive testing. You will collaborate with developers across Microsoft and with software and hardware partners to deliver technology that meets the evolving needs of customers.
