The Senior Software Engineer at Cox Communications will focus on the technical development of next-generation client-side solutions, particularly in the areas of Broadband, Connected Home, and Communities. This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to create advanced client solutions that support core products and enhance customer experiences. The position is set in a fast-paced, agile environment, aligning with corporate directives to drive innovation and improve platform performance.

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team on client-side platform technologies for Broadband, Connected Home, and Communities.
  • Develop and document platform requirements for new products and features in cooperation with the Cox Product Development organization.
  • Engage in design and development discussions to conceptualize desired outcomes.
  • Assist with feature estimation regarding technical requirements, time, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Understand Broadband products for residential and commercial verticals, including data services for residential subscribers and Cox Business customers.
  • Document processes to capture best practices, methodologies, and repeatability.
  • Participate in the analysis and diagnosis of complex platform issues, including troubleshooting and enhancements for existing and new features.
  • Define architectural requirements of client-side platforms, collaborating with server and system architects while leveraging industry technology standards.
  • Communicate project status to technical and non-technical personnel, including peers and management.
  • Proactively identify and propose products or enhancements to improve platform performance and maintainability.
  • Support product trials and deployments by working with field and care technical personnel.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging platform technologies and industry trends.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field, or a master's degree with 2 years' experience, or a Ph.D. with up to 1 year of experience, or 8 years' experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, PHP, C, C+++, HTML/CSS.
  • Working knowledge of frameworks/APIs like React, Spring Boot, OAuth, Bootstrap.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of project ownership and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
