About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the Replenishment organization within Walmart Global Tech. You’ll develop technologies, products, and services that enhance how buyers and suppliers communicate and manage product inventory across Walmart stores. This may include developing new methods for tracking inventory, improving forecasting capabilities, or creating more efficient processes for fulfillment. In this role, you will build and support applications that improve the experience of Walmart’s commercialized offerings, while also leading a team of junior engineers to deliver high‑quality products. About the Team Our team partners closely with our U.S. stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering associates, stores, and merchants with innovative technology solutions. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. provides an extensive selection across channels—whether customers shop on Walmart.com, through our mobile apps, or in stores. Our focus areas include: Customer experience Store and associate enablement In‑store services Merchant tools Merchant data science Search and personalization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (preferred), ideally with exposure to supply chain concepts.
  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and improving applications and technical solutions.
  • Ability to provide expert guidance, support cross‑functional alignment, and drive execution of action plans to meet customer and business needs.
  • Strong capability to build partnerships with key stakeholders, identify business needs, implement solutions, monitor progress, and adapt to evolving priorities and responsibilities.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Replenishment or Inventory systems and understanding of how they work.
  • Hands‑on experience with Agentic AI development.
  • A passion for exploring technology outside of work.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects by developing high‑level designs in partnership with product management, project management, business stakeholders, and user experience teams; obtain cross‑functional approvals.
  • Lead small engineering groups (4–6 engineers, including offshore associates) by providing documentation, direction, and examples; identifying short‑ and long‑term solutions and timelines; reviewing proposed solutions; and performing design and code reviews.
  • Design and develop full‑stack solutions using technologies such as React.js, Java, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
