The Senior Software Engineer will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives. Our team develops the Tire & Battery iPad application, enabling Sam's Club associates to provide outstanding member service in Tire & Battery Centers. We focus on creating intuitive, high-performance solutions that streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance the member experience. Collaboration and continuous improvement drive our work as we leverage technology to deliver impactful results across hundreds of clubs. The team values technical excellence in software development, DevOps, and solution design to build scalable, reliable applications that support business goals and elevate operational efficiency.

  • Own feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, testing, and ongoing support.
  • Write clean, efficient code across multiple languages and drive full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency.
  • Assist in solution design, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with company standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and measure solution impact.
  • Monitor application performance and maintain high-quality software through proactive DevOps practices.
  • Mentor peers, promote engineering excellence, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Extensive experience in software development using languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Java, and C++ with a strong focus on clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Proven ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities, including CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring. Extensive experience working in SQL and Cosmos.
  • Expertise in solution design, applying object-oriented principles and scalable architecture aligned with business goals.
  • Strong collaboration skills to engage cross-functional teams and translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in DevOps practices and program monitoring to ensure high-quality, reliable software delivery.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, mentorship, and driving engineering excellence.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
