CardioOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead and scale a high-performing backend and DevOps engineering team. In this pivotal role, you'll drive the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable software systems that power our innovative virtual care platform. As a seasoned technical leader, you’ll be responsible for setting engineering best practices, guiding architectural decisions, and mentoring developers. This is a role with hands-on involvement in shaping product delivery, technical execution, and team growth as the company scales and will grow into a leadership position as the organization scales. You will report directly to the Director of Software Engineering.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasing responsibility
3+ years in a technical leadership or engineering management role
Strong expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and services like EC2, Lambda, S3, Docker, ECS, elastic etc.
Strong backend development background, with expertise in Java and/or Python
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt) and CI/CD tools such as GitLab
Strong knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and observability tools
Proven experience building and deploying microservices and managing containerized applications
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
Proven ability to lead and manage engineering teams, promoting innovation and driving technical excellence.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

Experience with frontend technologies (React is a plus)
Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI handling, or other healthcare specific security standards

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of applications, from development through deployment and operation
Guide the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices that support our platform and integrations with healthcare systems.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices in software engineering and design patterns.
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers to ensure code quality and technical excellence
Review code, design, and deployment strategies to ensure best practices, code quality and technical excellence
