ETAP, a member of Schneider Electrical Energy Management Software Division, is seeking a senior power system software engineer with strong expertise in C++ / C# development and power system analysis, modeling, and simulation. The role bridges power engineering knowledge with software. Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), or Computer Science with a strong understanding of power system fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or C# and ability to work with large, complex codebases.
  • Ability to follow various industrial standards and write specifications.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of power system modeling, state estimation theory, and nonlinear optimization.
  • Highly motivated, self-managed, detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with both engineers and software developers.
  • PHD or master’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering with a minimum of 3+ years of programming experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and develop a large-scale nonlinear optimization problem in C++.
  • Integrate state estimation engines with EMS / SCADA systems.
  • Implement bad data detection and identification techniques.
  • Understand sensitivity analysis, observability, and measurement placement.
  • Experience software architecture patterns, multi-threading or parallel computing techniques, object-oriented design, and use of the Standard Template Library (STL).
  • Collaborate with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
