This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Enterprise Technology Transformation team. You will work with architects, engineers, system owners, product managers and business leaders at multiple levels to design and build highly scalable and resilient enterprise systems and integrations that address business problems. As a member of the team, you will also develop key components of our Enterprise Resource Planning platform, a critical and core element of Blue Origin's success. You will apply your software engineering expertise, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. The success of the mission at Blue Origin depends on the software that you and your team will build. Aerospace experience is not required. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

  • Develop highly reliable software solutions that are used across Blue Origin
  • Create new applications that improve how Blue Origin's business operates
  • Own all aspects of software engineering
  • Deep dive into your users’ problems and partner with product managers to find and create efficient solutions
  • Play an active role in architectural design, code reviews, and challenging requirements
  • Design and build integrations between ERP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred) and Consumer Systems to enable end‑to-end business processes (e.g., order-to-cash, procure-to-pay)
  • Define and implement data contracts, API schemas, and event-driven patterns connecting consumer-facing applications to back-office platforms
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across ERP and Consumer Systems, including monitoring and incident response for integrations
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in full stack software development
  • Knowledge of modern programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, Go or Rust
  • 5+ years experience designing and developing cloud native solutions and micro-services
  • 5+ years experience designing, building, deploying, operating, and scaling distributed systems
  • 3+ years experience working with in-stream data processing using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar technologies
  • 3+ years production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of version control, testing, CI/CD, alerting, and monitoring
  • Expertise in debugging, profiling, and improving application performance
  • Front-end experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript framework
  • Advanced level SQL and scripting
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skill
  • 3+ years experience implementing and integrating ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations) preferred
  • Experience with Consumer Systems (e.g., e-commerce, CRM, customer identity, order management) and building integrations between consumer-facing applications and ERP platforms
  • Hands-on experience with common Dynamics 365 integration patterns and tooling (e.g., REST/OData APIs, Data Entities, message queues, event-driven architectures, Azure services)
  • Familiarity with master data management, data mapping, and synchronization across ERP and Consumer Systems
  • Experience designing secure, scalable APIs and data flows that protect PII and meet compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, CCPA)
