Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
As the early hire at GroundControl, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product and engineering culture for the future of the company. You will work directly with the founding team across engineering, product, and customer success. You will: Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers Contribute to our Next.js Application and Python/Golang severless functions to improve reliability and progress the product roadmap Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps Interface directly with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background (5+ years) from industry
- At least 5 years working with Javascript/Typescript, React in production systems
- Experience building scalable and responsive web-based user interfaces
- Ability to empathize with end-users, to turn needs into features, and to balance user experience with engineering constraints to deliver full solutions
- Must be a US or Canadian Citizen located in the United States or Canada to satisfy regulatory requirements
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with Python and/or Golang
- Experience working with LLMs
- Experience working with AWS, in particular GovCloud
- Significant experience with writing test suites for React applications (Jest, Playwright)
- Deep relational database knowledge (Postgres specifically)
- Experience working on enterprise software and the features required by that customer segment
