The M365 AIForward team is dedicated to raising developer productivity and reducing toil by creating services and solutions ranging from modernizing legacy services to transformative adoption of new technologies. We conceptualize and build new, disruptive capabilities by studying existing developer and system management debt. We combine our ideas, industry research and insights from the open-source community. We frame a vision for a solution that brings engineering and AI together for the transformative services. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer that is passionate about AI, new technology, writing code, and moving ideas from musings to live services. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
• These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical strategy , mentor teams, and influence cross-org decisions.

Responsibilities

• This is an individual contributor role requiring hands-on coding
• Independently execute in the face of ambiguity.
• Lead identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
• Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers across products/solutions, working on-call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
