Senior Software Engineer, Google Beam
About The Position
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. In this role, with your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. Google Beam is a true-to-life new communication technology from Google that allows people to feel like they’re having real face-to-face conversations, no matter the distance. Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today’s leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together. As a part of the Google Beam team, you'll work with incredible teammates across all major functions in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities
- Be part of the platform/infrastructure team within a group focused on real-time machine learning-based 3D human capture and rendering.
- Support our team to build production-grade software to support the roll-out of a larger commercial product fleet.
- Be a member of the team that leads automated software release test infrastructure.
- Work on hardware in the loop test framework, integrated into the Beam software stack and hardware platforms.
- Drive our release engineering and Human-in-the-loop testing initiatives on innovative new teleportation platforms.
