About The Position

As a member of the accounting technology team, build and maintain vendor and custom applications to perform critical portfolio accounting functions for the firm. Manage the reporting of accounting transactions, portfolio holdings and cash projections for investors and clients. Work closely with other members of IT including other developers, business analysts, and QA engineers to design, develop, test, implement, and support solutions to meet business requirements. This individual will help design new platform functionality (collaborating with stakeholders) and help other developers use the solutions they build. Manage the daily health and operations of the SS&C Advent Geneva platform. Manage routine upgrades and patching of the SS&C Advent Geneva platform. Build, maintain and optimize accounting reporting from the SS&C Advent Geneva platform. Lead the delivery of high-quality business solutions, including participating in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support. Work with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans. Coordinate with analyst teams and vendors to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing. Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance. Author technical design and support documentation. Position is fixed location based in Boston office, however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience developing application software.
  • Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Experience with building, enhancing and maintaining accounting reporting from the Advent Geneva platform using Geneva’s native RSL query language.
  • Shell scripting with UNIX or Linux
  • Domain experience in Financial Services and Capital Markets
  • Experience with building, enhancing and maintaining performant queries and database packages using Oracle PL SQL.
  • Working with onsite and offshore technology teams
  • Working across all aspects of SDLC
  • Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience developing application software in lieu of a Master’s degree plus two (2) years of experience.
  • 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
