About The Position

This position will be working hybrid out of our Rochester NY office (3 in office days, remote 2 days). Works on an agile development team to design, build, test, and maintain our internal software programs as well as our participant web portal with minimal oversight. Mentors and trains junior members of the team as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree + 4 years experience or equivalent experience Skills and Abilities: Ability to work as part of a highly collaborative development team. Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents such as business requirements and software specifications. Ability to communicate effectively with internal contacts both written and oral. Advanced Java programming and SQL experience are required. Working knowledge of .NET and Crystal Reports is a plus. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to develop and document requirements and specifications. Ability to mentor other development team members. Tasks Performed: 35% Following our software development lifecycle, designs, develops, tests, and modifies software solutions with minimal oversight by analyzing business needs, conferring with users, investigating problem areas, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. 35% Documents solutions by creating flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and clear, well-commented code. 15% Mentors and oversees more junior members of the development team to enhance their technical and leadership skills. 10% Improves team processes by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures to increase efficiency. 5% Performs other duties as assigned.
