External applicants must be eligible to work in the US. Your Role: Our Digital and eCommerce division is looking to transform the Digital and eCommerce technology engine for Life Sciences. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in helping to design and build new features and components in our evolving platform. You will build, maintain, and provide expertise in cloud-based applications as you help deliver the team's roadmap to automation (CI/CD). Work as part of an Agile development team, taking ownership for one or more services. Identify, design, and implement process improvements & automation with Digital Infrastructure & Monitoring. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes. Manage and optimize database configurations for performance and reliability. Ensure compliance regarding backups, disaster recovery, data privacy, and security. Troubleshoot issues across our eCommerce GCP services and applications. Keep cloud environments stable and secure to prevent downtime and security breaches. Maintain a high-quality software mindset – ensuring that the code you write functions properly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other Information Technology discipline.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other Information Technology discipline.
  • Experience with software development.
  • Expertise with infrastructure as code, containerization, Kubernetes, and Harbor.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Knowledge of database management (PostgreSQL, Cassandra).
  • Experience with streaming platforms, like Confluent Kafka.
  • Experience with certificate management.
  • Experience with DevOps principles and practices, including design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and operational support.
  • Knowledge of OS, middleware, NoSQL, ESB, Integration, APIs, Web services, and/or REST.
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring & Telemetry systems like Dynatrace.
  • Strong system administration experience, including Unix/Linux OS, WAF, load balancers, and DNS.
