About The Position

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Senior Software Engineer (multiple openings) in Bellevue, WA to: Drive projects that involve full stack development using Java, Spring, Microservices, Rest based APIs, frontend frameworks like ReactJS and Spark/Scala based processing on Hadoop platform. Drive solution architecture and technical architecture with product owners, engineers, and technical product managers to scale products to highly functional, secure, performant and resilient platforms. Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high-quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards. Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner. Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven solutions. Drive release planning exercise, track development and testing to timely releases. Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved. Work on emerging technologies, building distributed applications. Guide and unblock other team members on day-to-day engineering tasks. Position reports to the Bellevue, WA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Position requires experience in the following:
Java, Spring MVC, Spark and Python.
Data intensive application design principles and Design Patterns.
Test Automation framework.
Leading development on large data processing and transaction systems.
Database and SQL.
Unix/Linux and shell scripts.
Data Analytics & Visualization.
Experience in the skills may be obtained through a combination of employment and/or education.
