In this role, you will design and build scalable applications and services that power associate-facing experiences. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical excellence across the ADE ecosystem. Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with distributed systems and APIs.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement scalable solutions.
  • Comfort with performance optimization and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional engagement with product, UX, and global tech teams.
  • Capability to set coding standards, guide design patterns, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area, OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • At least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ADE-related platforms (e.g., device lifecycle tools, identity management, collaboration apps).
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Background in mentoring and technical leadership.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable, secure applications and services for associate-facing digital experiences.
  • Ensure code quality through best practices, testing, and maintainability.
  • Set design patterns and coding standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers to foster technical excellence.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and telemetry for reliable deployments and continuous delivery.
  • Drive automation for operational efficiency and system resilience.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions (RCCA) for defects.
  • Optimize performance and security.
  • Work closely with product, UX, and global tech teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
