VIZIO/Walmart is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Android Engineer to join our Mobile Engineering team, building cutting-edge mobile applications that power the VIZIO experience across smartphones and tablets. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-performance, user-centric features using modern Android technologies.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Write clean, scalable, and testable code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring junior developers.
  • Integrate with backend services and SDKs, including VIZIO's proprietary APIs and HubSDK.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and app infrastructure improvements.
  • Stay current with the latest Android development trends and advocate for their adoption.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Android Architecture Components.
  • Deep understanding of MVVM, dependency injection (e.g., Hilt/Dagger), and reactive programming.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party SDK integrations.
  • Familiarity with tools like Git, Gradle, Android Studio, and CI/CD systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience working on media or streaming apps.
  • Familiarity with multi-module architecture and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).
  • Knowledge of accessibility, localization, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Firebase, analytics, and crash reporting tools.
