About The Position

Tyto Athene is searching for a Principal Software Engineer to support the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This role is ideal for a software engineer who is very experienced with the development, configuration, administration, and application of XINA in support of spacecraft system applications. XINA is a large-scale, cloud-based, data management system.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in XINA development, administration, and applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with NASA processes and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with developing and administering cloud-based (AWS) solutions.
• Exposure to programming languages, scripting or automation tools (Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, MySQL, etc.).
• Ability to design and deliver effective training for specialized software application usage.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end software support to XINA
• Design and implement software enhancements
• Identify and resolve software deficiencies
• Customize the configuration of XINA to support the needs of specific projects
• Collaborate with project team members
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Produce and deliver training to the XINA user base
