Walmart’s Global Time & Attendance (GTA) platform is undergoing a major transformation to deliver scalable, intuitive, and modern digital experiences for store, facility, and international users. This modernization includes migrating legacy systems, adopting headless and containerized architectures, and integrating next-generation technologies such as GenAI. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack to actively contribute to the development of Walmart’s associate-facing applications used by millions across the U.S. and international markets. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience across both frontend and backend development. You will play a key role in building resilient, secure, and scalable web and mobile solutions in the GTA modernization effort. This includes participating in the migration of legacy systems, building reusable APIs, integrating with platform components, and contributing to the adoption of GenAI across workflows. As a member of the Wellbeing/GTA engineering team, you’ll collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and platform engineers to deliver business-critical functionality with a focus on performance, usability, and engineering excellence.

  • Develop end-to-end features using React, Node.js, and Typescript within a full-stack architecture.
  • Build and maintain components inside a React Native shared container used across both web and mobile platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and cloud integrations.
  • Participate in the migration of legacy systems (e.g., JSP-based Workbrain UIs) to modern frameworks.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to solve technical challenges and deliver high-impact functionality.
  • Promote code quality through automated testing, static analysis, and participation in code reviews.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and production readiness practices.
  • Integrate emerging GenAI-driven features to improve UX, developer workflows, or automation efficiency.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and occasional on-call support rotations.
  • Build and Maintain Full-Stack Features Design and implement application features that span backend services and frontend interfaces using React and Node.js.
  • Support Legacy System Migration Assist in the conversion of legacy GTA workflows into modern, cloud-ready architectures ensuring feature parity and UX improvement.
  • Leverage Shared Container Strategy Contribute to Walmart’s containerized React Native approach for unified delivery across platforms.
  • Promote Engineering Standards Write clean, testable code and help ensure robust CI/CD, observability, and automation practices.
  • Enable GenAI Capabilities Support integration of intelligent features that enhance associate experience and streamline workflows.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with production-level experience in React and Node.js.
  • Experience with React Native and building cross-platform components is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design, backend services, and cloud-based deployment (Azure, GCP, or AWS preferred).
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and containerization.
  • Solid understanding of web/mobile performance optimization, authentication, and security best practices.
  • Experience with legacy system migrations or platform modernization is desirable.
  • Exposure to or interest in GenAI tools and frameworks.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
