We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support and enhance mission-critical federal health systems that improve access to services for Veterans. This role focuses on building, integrating, and optimizing a modern Microsoft Dynamics 365 and .NET-based platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across enterprise systems.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, ECS, Fargate, API Gateway)
  • Experience building backend services using Node.js and/or Java (Spring Boot or similar)
  • Proficiency in frontend development using React
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and distributed systems architecture
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and RDS
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile development environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Amazon Redshift
  • Familiarity with CDN and edge delivery technologies such as Akamai
  • Experience supporting high-traffic, production-grade applications in AWS
  • Exposure to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications within AWS environments
  • Develop and support microservices-based architectures using Node.js and/or Java-based services
  • Build responsive, high-quality user interfaces using React
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and Fargate
  • Design and integrate RESTful APIs using AWS API Gateway and other service integrations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performing distributed systems
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across cloud infrastructure
  • Support data-driven applications leveraging PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift
  • Implement best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, and system observability in AWS
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across application, infrastructure, and data layers
