About The Position

What you'll do... Position: Senior Software Engineer Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 Duties: Build and enhance the online shopping and purchase experience of Walmart's ecommerce platform. Work on medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements. Write and develop code. Deliver highly scalable microservices including requirements, design, code, and documentation. Contribute to early quality activities, including peer reviews of estimates, design, and code. Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches. Work cross-functionally with various teams including product management, QA/QE, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results. Work on assigned Engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, direction, and examples. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information and engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Enhance and fine-tune build and deployment pipeline to release the changes faster to production. Monitor, analyze and collect data about real user experience response times and system performance by implementing/enhancing tools and services. Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer information systems, engineering (any), or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer information systems, engineering (any), or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area. Skills Required: Experience building highly scalable and distributed web applications using Spring Boot framework. Experience designing and developing Java based REST web services in both Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices platforms. Experience with NoSQL databases including Cassandra and Azure Cosmos. Experience with system performance tuning and analysis using JMeter. Experience building continuous code integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using Jenkins and Maven. Experience setting up data monitoring, analysis, and reporting dashboards using tools including Splunk and Dynatrace. Experience building and deploying dockerized applications and configure Kubernetes for hosting and management. Experience with distributed version control systems including GitHub for managing versioned source code. Experience with SonarQube to review code quality. Experience with unit test tools including JUnit and Mockito. Experience with big data technologies including Apache Kafka to build event-driven features. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $193,211/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Requirements

  • Experience building highly scalable and distributed web applications using Spring Boot framework.
  • Experience designing and developing Java based REST web services in both Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices platforms.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases including Cassandra and Azure Cosmos.
