Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer in San Mateo, CA to lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient database messaging and streaming infrastructure to support high-availability and high-throughput across multiple applications environments, and technologies including Kafka. Requires a Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent and four (4) years of experience assessing systems responsible for handling common operational tasks, and designing solutions to improve automation; enhancing database automation through code using GoLang and writing shell scripts to enhance systems performance with minimal downtime; utilizing Amazon Web Service (AWS) Software Development Kits (SDK) to interact with infrastructure and develop tools to automate tasks; working with NoSQL style document stores including Cassandra, Aerospike, and Couchbase to improve functionalities; working with AWS services and deploying services on AWS cloud; and utilizing configuration management tools including chef or ansible. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. Sony is an EOE.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent
  • four (4) years of experience assessing systems responsible for handling common operational tasks, and designing solutions to improve automation
  • enhancing database automation through code using GoLang and writing shell scripts to enhance systems performance with minimal downtime
  • utilizing Amazon Web Service (AWS) Software Development Kits (SDK) to interact with infrastructure and develop tools to automate tasks
