The Red Hat OpenStack Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in hybrid cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service to join our Red Hat OpenStack Platform team. In this role, you will work as part of a distributed team, both on your own and in close collaboration and regular communication with other team members and upstream developers. Ideally, you will need to be passionate about innovative software development and open source. What you will do: Take ownership of the Red Hat OpenStack Platform packaging, testing, and release process Assist in the maintenance of any packages which are part of Red Hat OpenStack Platform or related channels as required Assist with bug triage Assist with building out infrastructure for both scale out and up of Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployments Learning the Red Hat OpenStack Platform release processes and technologies What you will bring: 5+ years of experience in software engineering.   • Take ownership of the Red Hat OpenStack Platform packaging, testing, and release process
  • Assist in the maintenance of any packages which are part of Red Hat OpenStack Platform or related channels as required
  • Assist with bug triage

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with Python programming
  • Experience with Agile Development practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environments
  • Ability to work independently
  • Passion for open source software development
  • Experience using Jira for task management and bug tracking
  • Experience with Linux distribution packaging
  • Experience working in release engineering
  • Experience with Puppet and Ansible
  • Experience with CI and CI tools, e.g., Jenkins, Zuul
  • Experience using RPM Package Manager (RPM)
  • Debugging and root cause analysis skills
  • Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) knowledge
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like OpenShift, Kubernetes, Podman or Docker
