The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a qualified and trained Software Engineer, Sr. for a role in an engineering support services program for U.S. Army customers at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. The Software Engineer, Sr. is responsible for performing the software engineering function, including the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products to bring about the successful completion of the CYBERTRON program goals and objectives. The CYBERTRON program delivers highly skilled engineering services to the U.S. Army C5ISR Center in their mission of cybersecurity research and development and cryptographic modernization.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen and possess a Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering/technical discipline or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Appropriate DoD 8750 certification (Security+ or higher).
• Have experience in a variety of software programming languages.
• Have experience in a variety of business systems and applications.
• Also have experience in designing, testing, debugging and documenting software.
• Requires expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, debug and document software in a variety of programming languages.
• Analyze and/or code computer software using the latest programming languages and techniques..
• Perform software requirements analysis, analysis of hardware compatibility, development of software products and tools used for design, development and maintenance of infrastructure, and platforms.
• Create strategies for developing IT systems and applications.
• Evaluate alternative approaches and select optimal approaches.
