PEMCO has an opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our community. This position is responsible for designing, developing and supporting business application software, with a focus on the rapid delivery of stable and scalable solutions to business partners.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Information Technology or related technical program) is required
  • 6 years of experience in a development role in a professional environment is required
  • Experience in business or system analysis in documenting requirements, functional specifications, and specifications of user interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience providing application development team leadership and subject matter expertise including technical guidance, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technical growth to peers is required
  • Skilled proficiency of formal architecture, design patterns and best practices
  • Problem Solver : ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve complex unstructured problems quickly, efficiently, and collaboratively
  • Business Environment : a thorough understanding of our industry, the relevant business landscape, trends in growth and insurance environments; the ability to spot early indicators of change and apply strategies to adapt quickly
  • Analytical and data-driven : able to think analytically; you can put complex ideas into clear frameworks; uses data to conduct root cause analysis and develops high quality, consumable, and consistent metrics that drive strategic objectives and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced development environment
  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
  • Skilled proficiency in MS Visio is required

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technical growth to team members.
  • Design, develop and support multi-tier applications of varying complexity.
  • Conduct risk/impact analysis of proposed technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with principal developers and drive/coordinate design and technical architecture.
  • Collaborate with Users, Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance Analysts in an Agile Project environment.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics, and business conduct.
