Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's degree (or Foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following: Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Javascript.
• Python, PHP, or Haskell.
• Relational databases and SQL.
• Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce).
• Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands.
• Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
• Building highly-scalable performant solutions.
• Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability.
• Algorithms.
• Data processing, programming languages, databases, computer networks, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction.
• Designing and completing medium to large software features independently without guidance.
• Experience owning a particular software component, feature, or system.

Responsibilities

• Architecting and implementing new features and optimizing existing products with a high degree of complexity.
• Leading and managing large-scope, technically complex projects, ensuring effective cross-team collaboration.
• Taking ownership of complex and ambiguous projects from inception to completion, developing solutions, and breaking them down into well-defined tasks.
• Solving intricate and high-impact problems, pushing code, and driving the development of the systems behind our products.
• Building, owning, and maintaining large-scale infrastructure that serves billions of users.
• Providing mentorship to engineers to help develop their technical skills and career growth.
• Developing a deep understanding of relevant product areas, codebases, and systems.
• Demonstrating advanced proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering.
• Producing high-quality code with comprehensive test coverage, utilizing modern abstractions and frameworks.
• Setting and maintaining high standards for internal development practices, from development to code release.
• Actively seeking and providing feedback in alignment with the company Performance Philosophy.
