About the position
The role of a Senior Software Engineer within the Security Response and Investigations (SRI) team at Uber is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of our digital and physical environments. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing modern and scalable automation platform solutions aimed at enhancing our security response capabilities. This involves leveraging advanced technologies such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams across security and engineering disciplines. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping Uber's cybersecurity strategy, ensuring that we stay ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats. Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: Programming language (e.g. Java, Go, C++, Python)
- Note the 2-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong experience in designing, building and maintaining backend services for large-scale distributed systems
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts, LLM & Prompt Engineering
- Knowledge of emerging security technologies, forensic methodologies and security tools.
- Certifications in CyberSecurity is a plus.
