Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in spacecraft mission design simulation, modeling, and algorithm development using Java, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with Linux development environments, Git/GitLab, and Agile workflows.
  • Experience with orbital mechanics, vector calculus, and linear algebra.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in applying rigorous software engineering practices, including Agile development, continuous integration (CI/CD), version control, and unit testing.
  • Experience with documenting designs, algorithms, and workflows to support technical reviews and long-term maintainability.
  • Experience working with a large-scale legacy software system.
  • Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications in Java, C++, Python, and MATLAB for spacecraft planning, scheduling, and dynamics simulation.
  • Implement, test, and debug algorithms for attitude modeling, angular separation, multivariate optimization, and mission constraints.
  • Develop and integrate spacecraft geometry and dynamics models, including 3D facet-based satellite models and aerodynamic simulations.
  • Conduct data analysis, visualization, and technical research to validate models against first-principles physics.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to investigate problem reports, implement enhancements, and deliver mission-ready solutions.
