About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Mainframe, Systematics) to join and lead our team. We have engineers that have systems, Mainframe, and software engineering backgrounds. The software engineering role within Capital One is critical to our success and one that focuses on building a highly reliable, scalable and measurable customer experience ensuring continued growth of Capital One's critical services in the Bank.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree.
• COBOL, JCL, VSAM on IBM mainframe experience.
• Ad Hoc reporting tools (Easytrieve or DYL).
• Mainframe utilities (e.g. SORT, IDCAMS).
• 3+ years of professional experience developing batch and CICS.
• Experience with database management systems, SQL, or other automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Guide software engineers on the systematics team responsible for the definition, design, construction, integration, testing, and support of reliable and reusable software solutions.
• Address business opportunities through systems analysis, creation of specifications, coding, testing, and implementation of application programs and data interfaces.
• Develop complex applications using GN/IM/RM/MA application experience and Agile methodologies.
• Demonstrate experience with large scale application integration efforts.
• Influence multiple levels on highly technical issues and challenges.
• Ensure that application designs are consistent with attributes including scalability, availability, maintainability, and flexibility.
