About The Position

Our client is a U.S.-based technology company building advanced software platforms that operate across highly distributed, dynamic, and performance-sensitive environments. Their systems support mission-critical and regulated use cases where scalability, reliability, and real-time responsiveness are essential. Purple Squirrel is conducting this search on a confidential basis and will evaluate candidates prior to client submission. Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a core platform engineering team responsible for developing and evolving foundational systems. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex systems problems, working close to networking and infrastructure layers, and contributing across the full software lifecycle. You will collaborate with senior engineers to design, build, test, and maintain platform software that supports dynamic networked environments, while taking ownership of projects from concept through production.

  • Professional experience modeling or working with communications or transport systems
  • Familiarity with production network design, traffic engineering, or orchestration concepts
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, debugging, and system reliability
  • Experience with performance analysis, large-scale system data analysis, or complex debugging

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing APIs and integration layers to enable interoperability across heterogeneous systems
  • Developing algorithms and services that support dynamic network behavior and topology changes
  • Building software that accounts for time-sensitive and location-aware system constraints
  • Designing scalable platform components with a focus on performance, reliability, and observability
  • Supporting system health monitoring, debugging, and performance analysis in production environments
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define architecture, standards, and technical roadmaps

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical platforms
  • Challenging technical problems at the intersection of systems, networking, and software
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
  • Flexible working arrangements aligned with program needs
