Senior Software Engineer - Mobile
About The Position
We are looking for a product-driven Mobile Engineer (React Native / iOS) to architect and launch a high-quality consumer application from zero to production. This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about interaction design, motion, performance, and crafting polished user experiences that feel truly native. You will own the React Native app end-to-end, working closely with design and product to prototype, iterate, and refine rapidly. The position requires strong technical execution combined with taste — every animation, gesture, and transition should feel intentional. This is an in-person role within a small, fast-moving NYC team building a novel consumer platform. You’ll operate with high ownership and direct impact on the product’s direction.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in mobile development
- Strong experience with React Native (preferred) or native iOS development (Swift / iOS SDK)
- Solid understanding of UI/UX principles and mobile interaction design
- Experience with performance optimization and concurrency management
- Ability to build scalable and maintainable mobile architectures
- Strong attention to detail in animation, typography, and interaction systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person startup environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind (web stack familiarity)
- Experience using AI development tools (e.g., Cursor) effectively
- Experience with WebGL, Three.js, or creative coding
- Strong design sensibility and product intuition
Responsibilities
- Architect and build the React Native mobile application from zero to launch
- Develop scalable, reusable components for both iOS and Android
- Prototype and iterate rapidly alongside design to validate product ideas
- Craft motion systems, transitions, micro-interactions, and tactile feedback
- Own performance optimization, accessibility, and native feel
- Collaborate with backend and web teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect production code
- Continuously refine UX quality and interaction polish
