About The Position

This role can sit out of the following OCI offices: Austin, Texas, Broomfield, Colorado or Nashville, TN. As a Senior Software Engineer inside the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Interactive Media team, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems and contribute to the development, delivery and operation of cloud services driving novel consumer video applications. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing team building new products that are redefining streaming, transforming how content creators engage audiences and unlock new revenue streams through cloud-native innovation. You will help create scalable, real-time systems enabling intelligent content delivery, dynamic interactivity, and monetization—all built on globally distributed infrastructure. You will work with a talented group of software developers, designing scalable, highly available cloud services in a world class development environment. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with clear experience in the development, delivery and operation of enterprise-class cloud services. Prior experience and domain knowledge in media services (specifically video) is a big plus. The Senior Software Engineer is an individual contributor role that requires a proven track record of success and technical depth as a software developer. We seek individuals with evolved soft skills in addition to strong technical acumen.

Requirements

• BS/CS Computer Science or related field and 3+ years software development experience using modern programming languages.
• Proven experience in large-scale software development, specifically for cloud services and distributed systems.
• Experience in development, deployment, and operations of highly scalable cloud microservices using Kubernetes.
• A fundamental understanding of cloud infrastructure (compute, identity, network, storage) and deployment automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or similar).
• Familiarity building, running, and maintaining highly available services in a DevOps environment with established processes for maintaining quality, including failure root cause analysis.
• Experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with Java and/or Go is a big plus.
• Any relevant background in video streaming, real-time communications, or social networking systems is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, validate, and document components of a distributed, service-oriented architecture.
• Ensure proper focus on availability, scalability, observability, and testability.
• Ensure automated and reliable deployment of services end-to-end including foundational infrastructure and required dependencies.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.
• Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
• Collaborate with architects and technical leads to refine, realize, and achieve the technical vision of the team.
• Work effectively across geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes and best practices.
