About The Position

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. In this role, you will be focused on taking care of people inside of the home and through their health as it seeks to create a home that takes care of the people inside it and the world around it as health empowers you to live a longer, healthier life.

As a part of the Health and Home Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for empowering the development and operation of compelling Home and Health experiences with scalable and efficient serving and offline infrastructure, coherent internal developer platforms, easy-to-use APIs, trusted data services, and systems to manage and build user trust. You will be focused on challenges such as system modernization, foundational excellence, Horizontal AI infrastructure, scaling the Health and Home ecosystem, and enabling rapid innovation.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in C++ or Java programming languages.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Write and test product or system development code.
