Requirements

• 7+ years in a software engineering role, with significant experience driving initiatives that span multiple teams or systems.
• Strong system design and architecture expertise, especially in distributed or large-scale platforms.
• Experience owning projects or domains from design through delivery and ongoing evolution.
• Proven ability to mentor other engineers and improve team performance.
• Comfortable influencing technical direction and building consensus among multiple stakeholders.
• Collaborative and communicative — a Class-A communicator who simplifies complexity, builds alignment, and drives clarity.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of new systems and APIs that support multiple teams.
• Drive technical initiatives from concept to production, navigating ambiguity along the way.
• Anticipate scalability, reliability, and performance challenges, and design solutions that endure.
• Establish and maintain strong engineering standards through code reviews, testing, and operational excellence.
• Act as a technical owner for systems and domains that impact multiple teams.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers at different levels, helping teams deliver successfully.
• Take responsibility for the long-term success of projects and platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Stay current with technologies and practices that can improve Blink’s products and platforms.
• Lead explorations of new approaches and share knowledge broadly across the organization.
• Foster a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and continuous learning.
• Communicate clearly across teams, ensuring alignment in complex projects.
• Give and receive feedback that is candid, constructive, and actionable.
• Build trust and promote teamwork across groups to enable the product team’s success.
