About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Biofire, you will be responsible for building software for high-reliability, safety-critical products. To succeed in this role, you should be a skilled software engineering generalist who likes working on various projects, self-driven, obsessed with details, and comfortable operating in a multidisciplinary R&D environment. You will need to be able to develop high-quality, highly-reliable software while contributing to architecture and problem-solving as a member of the Software team. Delivering on defined requirements will be a vital part of your role, but you will also be expected to bring a passion for solving novel problems, proactively engaging with your colleagues across engineering to drive to the very best solution and rigorously pressure test the status quo.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals
• Proficiency in various languages such as Java, Kotlin or C/C++
• Proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience with Agile Methodologies
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices to help streamline the software development process and ensure high code quality.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating and upholding excellence across engineering standards, design, review processes, and testing across all aspects of the team's work
• Comfortable working with a variety of languages, frameworks and levels of abstraction from embedded to high level application development
• Creating coding standards and unit testing
• Configuration management
• Deploy software tools, processes and metrics
