Your role As a Senior Software Engineer on the Product Team at Qualified, you will tackle technically challenging and ambiguous problems by building exceptional products and enhancing our processes and technology. You will work on integrating LLMs, embeddings, and other AI technologies into our product offerings, pushing the boundaries of what's possible to deliver innovative features and exceptional user experiences. Our product team emphasizes rapid experimentation and iteration, and you will own the end-to-end delivery and success of features—from coding and testing to deployment, monitoring, and customer rollout—while maintaining high standards of engineering and code quality. Additionally, you will work closely with customers, gathering immediate feedback to continuously improve our products and ensure they meet user needs effectively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in professional full-stack software development, with a recent focus on leveraging AI/ML technologies.
• Expertise in working with all components of a modern web application.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Python, or Go.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, systems design, and working with large-scale, low-latency systems.
• Strong software engineering practices, including coding, unit testing, code reviews, and design documentation.
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).
• Passionate about crafting innovative, user-centric solutions, solving intricate technical problems, and making a tangible impact.
• Highly curious about engineering beyond immediate discipline with a desire to stay at the cutting edge of applied AI.
• Driven by the challenge of creating elegant, intuitive, and user-friendly products.
• Self-directed, independent, and experienced in owning complete features and products.
• Fearless in stepping outside their comfort zone to tackle various challenges and opportunities as we rapidly grow the product and team.
• Proactive in sharing thoughts and input; we value open communication over a heads-down environment.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using frontier-scale LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini) programmatically for developing applications in production environments is a plus.
• Experience working with SQL and RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) and data warehousing solutions.
