Role Definition CAT Digital Platform team is looking for a talented and motivated senior software engineer to build applications used by Caterpillar technicians, Caterpillar Dealers and analysts all over the world. This team also builds reference applications/single page applications demonstrating the power of Platform services and giving a jump start to application developers.

Requirements

Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements. Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale.
Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
Software Product Testing: Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements. Hands on experience with testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.
Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design. Demonstrates experience with the architecture and design of major or multiple products and is able to describe major software architecture alternatives and considerations
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Nice To Haves

Typically have 5+ years software development experience
Experience in designing and developing customer facing applications using front-end frameworks, libraries (React / Angular / Polymer / Vue) and JavaScript, CSS3, design patterns.
Understanding of basic UI/UX concepts and creation of wireframes.
Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs
Experience or working knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of a high-level language such as Java or similar
Passion for technology and an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment
