About The Position

Bring your Embedded Software and Security Engineering talent to perform software development activities such as architecting, designing and implementing software product security features, performing product security integration, and supporting validation for complex embedded control systems. Engineers at our Endicott NY location support the following Business Areas: Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS) and Power & Propulsion Solutions (PPS). In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics - whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. In Power & Propulsion Solutions, we're involved with everything from providing efficient power management on military vehicles to developing eco-friendly, hybrid and electric systems for the commercial world. Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years work experience in Embedded Software development using C/C++/Assembly language
  • Willingness to perform a wide variety of related tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Higher level programming & scripting languages such as C++, Python, JAVA, Perl, etc.
  • Software modeling, such as Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience in Embedded real-time Operating System development
  • Experience with PowerPC, ARM, x86 processor architectures
  • Real-time embedded low level software development (e.g. Device Drivers and BSP development)
  • Hardware/Software integration and debug experience
  • Familiarity with source control systems and configuration management practice
  • Experience with Safety Critical or Functional Safety industry standards such as: DO-178B or C, IEC 62304, IEC 62368, IEC 61508, ISO 26262

Responsibilities

  • Participate in one or more phases of the software life cycle: requirements development, software design/implementation, integration, and verification
  • Develop software designs and implementations that meet stringent requirements for complex embedded control systems
  • Develop software using Green Hills, ARM Development Studio or other software development environments for embedded targets ranging from PowerPC to multi-core ARM processors
  • Use existing processes and evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques to minimize both design cost and product cost
