About The Position

Position Description: Develops distributed applications and middleware technologies using tools -- REST/SOAP Web Services, Java (8 and above), SQL, PL/SQL, Messaging, Kafka, JavaScript, and Test Driven Development (TDD). Designs, develops, and documents Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and RESTful APIs, using SwaggerHub, and Open API Standards. Writes automated tests using testing frameworks -- utPLSQL, Junit, Cypress, and Cucumber. Deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and practices -- GitHub, Jenkins, Stash, Artifactory, Ansible, Concourse, Kubernetes, and Docker. Designs reliable, portable, accurate and trustworthy automated tests (unit, integration, regression, user interface (UI)) and integrates them into CI/CD pipelines. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. Primary Responsibilities: Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms. Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives. Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. Delivers assessments to conduct evaluations of distributed architecture (Snowflake) and performance, with a focus on its capabilities in supporting both structured (relational tables) and semi-structured data (JSON, Avro, and Parquet). Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and deploying Web-based enterprise applications. Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and deploying Web-based enterprise applications. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") engaging in full lifecycle development of large-scale Cloud native distributed Java RESTful services, middle-tier, and database solutions for multi-threaded applications, using Agile methodologies, Java, Spring, Oracle, and Hibernate frameworks; maintaining CI/CD pipelines through Atlassian and tools -- uDeploy, Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, and GitHub, to ensure efficient application build, deployment, and support. DE working with Test-Driven Development (TDD) for Cloud-based applications by implementing comprehensive test automation across the entire software stack, including frontend, middle-tier and backend services; and utilizing Postman, Apigee, SwaggerHub, REST Web Services, JUnit and utPLSQL for testing and documentation to produce reliable code for developing applications. DE performing in cloud security initiatives for large-scale distributed applications by implementing robust secrets management and identity access control solutions to enforced encryption standards and access policies which can be integrated with enterprise systems such as LDAP, Kubernetes, and AWS IAM. DE designing and implementing High-Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies for diverse database landscapes (Oracle 19c, 18c, 12c, 11g, Sybase, and DB2), using a comprehensive toolset -- Oracle Data Pump, SQLLoader, Oracle GoldenGate, Unix/Linux cron jobs, and Autosys/UC4, to minimize downtime and ensure seamless data recovery in complex heterogeneous environments. #PE1M2 #LI-DNI
