As a Senior Engineer on our Data Compliance Solutions team in the Data & Analytics group, you will be a key participant in helping shape the future of Roblox and keeping our data processing within the standards of all regulations and privacy concerns. Our mission is to provide reliable, robust, and easy to use tooling and solutions to enable full enforcement of Privacy and Compliance requirements keeping Roblox's creators' and users' data secure and private at all times. You will report into the Engineering Director of our Data team. If you want to learn what it takes to develop large-scale infrastructure to analyze user behavior from millions of monthly active users, you'll fit right into our accomplished and ever-expanding engineering team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building and scaling reliable distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience working with data processing using Spark, Hive, or Trino.
• Extensive experience analyzing and optimizing ETL pipelines.
• Experience working in SQL, Python, and Java.
• Experience with data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the next generation privacy and compliance tooling for our data & analytics platform.
• Help implement our vision for analytics for both compute and storage at exabyte scale.
• Ensure that our platform and data usage is compliant with all regulations and privacy concerns.
• Develop systems and tools to allow data processing both on cloud and in Roblox Data Centers.
• Help contribute to a productive open source community for systems we develop.
• Help with design, implementation, testing, and support of next-generation features related to scalability, reliability, robustness, usability, security, and performance of Roblox data processing systems.
• Be a part of a collaborative team: The Data Infrastructure Team and the Data Compliance Solutions Team are combined at Roblox to ensure that data processing and analytics are guided by the user needs -- ie. query patterns and product requirements.
