Job Description U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer – Data and Platform Engineering in Cupertino, CA. Essential Responsibilities: The Senior Software Engineer – Data and Platform Engineering will be responsible for redesigning data platform using modern Javascript technologies like React, Redux, Typescript with Azure in the backend. The Senior Software Engineer – Data and Platform Engineering will also be leading core projects. Additional responsibilities include the following: Architect and build projects on a modern JavaScript application stack such as React, NodeJS and Express by analyzing users' needs of workbench data application; analyze the product requirements and advise new ideas to the team through code improvements and A/B tests; design and develop end to end software solutions for privacy and security of data application at U.S. Bank; design front end application which interacts with highly available and scalable REST and GraphQL APIs; review and participate at all stages of application development, from UI design to live site monitoring; utilize knowledge of and experience with JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as Angular, Ember, React, and Underscore, Node.js applications, HTML, CSS, ES6, ES7 features, Babel, FRP; utilize knowledge of and experience with languages such as Elm and ClojureScript to create optimum software; and mentor junior team members to come up with optimized solutions through code and design reviews. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple positions. Basic Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related. Required Skills/Experience: Must possess 5 years of experience with: large volume and highly scalable data; architecting and building projects on a modern JavaScript application stack; collaborating with stakeholders to analyze and understand users' needs specific to workbench data applications; translating business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions that align with the overall architectural vision; providing actionable insights and proposing innovative solutions to enhance the functionality, usability, and performance of applications; implementing and monitoring A/B tests to measure the impact of changes and driving data-driven decisions to improve user experience and application efficiency; architecting and implementing comprehensive end-to-end software solutions to address the privacy and security needs of data applications; creating intuitive and visually appealing front-end applications that seamlessly interact with highly available and scalable REST and GraphQL APIs; optimizing front-end performance through efficient state management, component design, and reusable code patterns; collaborating with back-end engineers to define API specifications and deliver a cohesive and integrated user experience; engaging in the full software development lifecycle; providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers; JavaScript frameworks and libraries: Angular, Ember, React, and Underscore, along with Node.js for back-end development; utilizing advanced JavaScript features to create robust and maintainable code: ES6 and ES7; and utilizing Babel for code compilation and functional reactive programming (FRP) concepts.
