About The Position
Noise is building a new kind of media platform; our goal is to combine data from across the internet with market driven insights to present a uniquely valuable view of the world at a time of peak uncertainty. We're a team of 10 based in SoHo, New York. Open to remote. We look for people with great taste who can ship code, design or convey user needs into delightful products.
Requirements
- Uses AI tooling daily to move faster
- Sharp instincts for the tradeoff between latency and correctness in financial systems
- Proficiency in TypeScript, relational databases, realtime transports, and event-driven data flows across a financial product
- Comfortable in a strict monorepo with typed service boundaries and strong conventions
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Effect-TS
- Side projects, open source contributions, or startup experience
Responsibilities
- Build backend systems for consumer features: feeds, ranking, notifications, realtime, and social surfaces
- Make the codebase a place where both humans and agents ship with high confidence
- Own services, data flows, and APIs across the core product
- Build the infrastructure where correctness and speed both matter: settlement, pricing, and realtime systems with real money on the line
- Own and improve the development harness: CI, testing, and observability
- No platform org to hand things off to. You fix the pipeline, improve the container, add the trace
- Strong communication skills: async updates, incident postmortems, and knowing when to ask for help
